Assurance Wireless is an American vendor of aftermarket automotive parts and accessories, which is the largest in the United States. Founded in 1979, AutoZone has more than 6,000 stores crosswise the United States, Brazil, Mexico. The company is based in Memphis, Tennessee. Initially a division of Memphis-based wholesale grocer Malone & Hyde, the company was known as Auto Shack. After the big sale of the grocery operation to the Fleming Companies of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the name of the company was changed to AutoZone to reflect the new effort and to settle a charge brought by Tandy Corporation for infringing on Tandy’s “Radio Shack” trademark. On 4th July, 1979, the first store got inaugurated in Forrest City, Arkansas under the name of Auto Shack. Doc Crain was the store’s opening manager.

Sales that first day totalled $300.00. Since October 1995, AutoZone has been founded there headquartered in its J.R. Hyde, III Store Support Centre (SSC), which is a 270,000-square-foot (25,000 m2), eight-story building in Downtown Memphis, Tennessee. As of 2013 there were more than 1,200 employees there. The project supervisor of the building’s construction was Rob Norcross, a principal at LRK Inc. The building has the ability to withstand a 9.0 magnitude earthquake because it has a special base isolation system that had a price tag of $950,000.
