Cathay Pacific Airways Limited is based in Hong Kong and is the flag carrier of Hong Kong. Its head office and main hub ís situated in Hong Kong International Airport. Cathay Pacific was founded on 24 September 1946 in Hong Kong by Sydney H. de Kantzow and Roy C. Farrell. It is the world’s largest airline company in terms of sales, and fourteenth largest in terms of market capitalization. Cathay Pacific operates a fleet of large aircrafts that include Airbus A350, Airbus A330, and two different models of Boeing 777.

Cathay Pacific has the slogan – “Life Well travelled”. They have a fleet size of 146 and they currently fly to over 190 destinations and 60 countries across the globe. Cathay Pacific emerged as one of world’s largest international cargo airlines in 2010. At the same time, Hong Kong International airport became the world’s busiest airport in terms of cargo traffic.

The airline made the world’s first non-stop flight over the North Pole in July 1998. This flight was also the maiden flight to arrive at the new Hong Kong International Airport.
