The Federal Bureau of Investigation is one of the most famous intelligence services there are in the entire world. often shown on television and movies, the FBI operates only in the United States, but is actually feared throughout the known world. They are best described as the leading domestic intelligence and security service that operates in the United States, and is the principal law enforcement agency of the entire US. It operates under the quite widespread jurisdiction of the US Department of Justice, and is required to provide reports of its actions to both the Attorney General of the US along with the Director of National Intelligence. While they were always the leading counterintelligence agency, recently they had to focus most of their resources on counter-terrorism, a growing concern in today’s world.
The FBI was formed on 26th July, 1908, 110 years ago, making them one of the oldest counterintelligence agencies in the world, and were founded by J. Edgar Hoover, the pioneer of American National Security, and a patriot by any standards. They are very vocal with citizens, and urge anybody with information to contact them.
