Founded by Erling Persson in the year 1947 as Hennes, Hennes & Mauritz AB popularly known as H & M is a very famous clothing retail company who are basically known for their smart and fashionable clothes. They produce clothes for men, women, teenagers and kids. They have stores that are expanded in over 62 countries where they have about 5000 stores. The is the second largest clothing retail business in the world, the first being the parent company of Zara called Inditex. The company also sells their apparels online in almost 32 countries. As of 2016, it was reported that their revenue was around USD 25.191 billion. The stores have different brands of cloth along with their own famous H & M brand and some other brands each with individual concepts.
H & M has their own award known as the H&M Design award which they give to fashion graduates to encourage them. they also have launched a program, wherein they would give their customers a voucher against used clothes and those clothes would be donated to a retailer who promotes zero waste environment and hence puts old clothes to recycling. They together with Zara has joined hands in order to changes their supply chains in order to prevent endangered forests. They together with a non profit organisation called canopy has decided on removing all the ancient and endangered forests that previously used to provide them with pulp for different clothing fabrics.
