Hulu is an American entertainment company that provides over-the-top media services such as instant streaming of televisions series, Live Channels, Original films and a premium library of the same. Hulu is owned by Hulu LLC which is a joint venture with The Walt Disney Company, 21st Century Fox, Comcast and AT&T. They hold 30%, 30%, 30%, and 10% stakes in the company respectively.

Hulu is primarily oriented towards instant streaming of television series, carrying current and past episodes of many series from its owners’ respective television networks and other content partners.

Earlier, Hulu was divided into free and paid tiers of product. The free service was limited in the amount of content that it provided to its users and it was accessible only via the PC. A larger library of content could be accessed via the Hulu applications for various mobile and connected devices. The subscription service is further divided into Ad-supported and mostly ad-free sections.

Hulu launched a live television streaming service on May 3, 2017 and at the same time, it spun out its free content into a joint venture with Yahoo! and called it Yahoo! View. Hulu is currently available only to users in Japan, United states and its territories.
