The United States Department of Veterans Affairs is an agency that provides a complete federal healthcare benefits and services to eligible military veterans and their dependents. This cabinet level agency provides such services in outpatient clinics as well as medical centers, located all over the country. This agency also benefits non healthcare benefits that includes vocational rehabilitation, disability compensation, home loans, education assistance as well as life insurance.

It also provides 135 national benefits to memorial and burial benefits to the eligible veterans and their family members. It was formed on 21st July 1930 and it is headquartered in Washington DC, U.S. The agency employs more than 377,805 people, serving hundreds and thousands of Veterans Affairs medical facilities, cemeteries, clinics, benefits offices and much more. Since 88 years, the agency has been providing benefits of more than $106.5 billion to the eligible veterans. Some amounts of the benefits include $4.6 billion burial benefits, $59.6 educational benefits, and $2.491 compensation benefits.

The agency is directed and led by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs who is chosen by the consent of the President. The agency serves the veterans after they get retired from their military services. The DOL also contacts local agencies to provide job training and job development opportunities for the disabled as well as other veterans.
