As the name implies, Epic Games is an American based video game developing company. With its headquarters based on North Carolina, Epic Games released its first ever video game ZZT at 1991. The firm was used to know with the name Epic Mega Games but later simplified it as Epic Games. It is the Epic Games Inc. that manufactures the Unreal Engine which is one of a commercial game engine available in the market. Apart from its usual services, Unreal Engine also supports the internally developed games by the firm. The Guinness World Records chose Unreal Engine as the best game development engine in 2014.
Chair entertainment and Cloudgines are two of the successful game developers and was bought by Epic Games. After its successful installations Epic Games spread its services by starting its sub studios in places such as Seattle, England, Berlin, Yokohama, Seoul. In 1999 Epic games focused on developing unreal and personal computer gaming, in 2016 they improvised to gears of war and controlled gaming. By 2012, they recognized that the world is moving towards the Gaming as a Service possibility and hence gave their 40% stakes to Tenzen. From then on till date they are focusing on releasing their creativities based on Gaming as a Service.
