About

Occupational Safety and Health Administration is one of the various agencies of the United States Department of Labour. It’s headquartered at Frances Perkins Building, Washington D.C., where more than 2000 employees work. The Acting Assistant Secretary of this company is Loren Sweatt. OSHA was established in April 28,1971., with George Guenther, a quite famous man himself, appointed as the first Director. OSHA has been responsible for running quite a lot of training, health and safety, danger recognition and other developmental programs, throughout its history.

The OSHA Training Institute, their main training venue, was developed in the year 1972. The grant program ran by OSHA, called the Susan Harwood Training Grant Program, that was to be given for the training of train workers and employers in the art of reducing the hazards found in a workplace. OSHA started the Voluntary Protection programs in 1982 that allows employers to be model workplaces and achieve designations only if they could meet the desired requirements.  These regulations include limits on hazardous chemical exposure employee access to hazard information. One should call the OSHA Contact number in order to know more.
